Prince Edward Island or PEI for short is the smallest province in Canada and one of Canada’s slice of heaven that our country offers. There are three ways to get to the Island by fairy, plane or by car.
If you chose to go by car you will be driving on the confederation bridge which is 12.9Km/8.01miles long. Now, most people use the bridge one thing is that you donāt need to pay a toll to get on the Island but on youāre departing of the Island you must pay the toll to get off the Island.

Now I have family on the Island and as a chilled every two years I and my parents would take a trip and visit my family because my mom’s brother has twins the same age as me so we got along well. Then the next year they come to Ottawa.
The Island has lots to offer from golfs courses to beaches and lighthouses.
The Island is filled whit lots of activities for the whole family. Form chilling at the beaches to taking a drive to the nearest lighthouse or even going to the many local shops filed with a local artisan. During the ātouristā season the Island is buzzing so if you enjoy that hustle and bustle end of June, July and the beginning of august are the busiest mounts. End of August and early September the Island is still beautiful it just moves at a slower paste since kids are going back to school and parents are going back to work after the summer holidays. Also, gift shops are shutting down for the summer, so things are on sale. My mom has beautiful art pieces from a local artist that during peak season would be expensive but since we go in the offseason, we got a great deal.
The Island is also filled with interactive museums where the employees are dressed at this time.

P.E.I. culinary sense is thriving on the Island with its plentiful local seafood and lots of local farms. P.E.I. is home to Cows Creamery where they sell amazing Ice cream they also sell other products like chocolate-covered potato chips and any other products.

Most people know the Island to have red sandy beaches, but the truth is that some are white/gray sand. So, the white beaches are mostly part of the Cavendish which is located on the northern end of the island looking into the Atlantic ocean with the national park and the Green Gales House can be found and one of the many golf courses on the Island. Cavendish is also known to us Canadians as a big potato farming. They even have their frozen fries that you can buy in-store.
If you are a big country music fan Cavendish host an annual music festival. Due to covid, they have cancelled it. But normally this festival is held in early July and a thousand flock to the Island. This festival has hosted in the past artists like Carrie Underwood and Eric Church and that was just last year would have marked 11years. This makes it hard to find accommodation as a last-minute trip most place is booked a year in advance especially the RV campgrounds. But I am one of the lucky ones where I have family and friends that live on the island so when we visit, we stay with them.
Now from my parentās house to my family member’s home, it is a 16h drive we normally do this in one day because we sometimes go for a long weekend like thanksgiving witch is at the beginning of October for us Canadian. So, we would leave early Friday morning and get there around 11oclock/midnight then we would spend the weekend with family go walk on the beach and just have a good time and then Monday we drive home and go to work on Tuesday. It’s like going to the cottage but slightly further.
My childhood memory of the vacationing on the Island was fun and up to no good with my twin cousins. Waking up in the morning and being outside most of the day going to the rock quarry in their backyard and then picking wild raspberry. Fun story on that one day we were in the raspberry bushes picking up our self a late night (7 pm we where like 7/8 or younger) snack and my cousin stepped on a broken glass bottle and it disturbed a wasp nest and well we all got stung on the face near our eyes. We all looked like we were in a fight with our eyelids swollen. And then for the rest of the time, we were there everywhere we went wasp was around us but they did have a big population of wasp that year but still, it was wonderful and being our parents they took pictures of this event.
We would also sometimes go camping on their grandpaās farm property. The farm was by the ocean and there was a path that accessed the beached and we would go jet skiing and just camp by the water. It was great fun.

I hope that one day you get to visit beautiful province called P.E.I.
